1 egg
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 1/2 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2/3 c. milk
2 c. blueberries
Cream together the sugar and shortening, then add egg. Sift dry ingredients together; add to creamed mixture. Add blueberries that have been "floured" (take about 1/4 cup of the flour from the measured amount before adding the other dry ingredients, and shake the berries in a baggie with the flour). This makes a rather thick batter. Bake in a 9 x 13 cake pan at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Top with a dusting of powdered sugar.
